Play Day Today

Well part of it was a play day - sewed 2 Tula Pinks blocks this morning

Breakfast out with 8 of our friends then home to get some work done.

Diane and Roger came over to help us get ready for winter.  Roger got the pond ready for winter and Diane - bless her washed some windows for me, and cleaned the furnace filter. Roger installed the child safety latches in the kitchen.  A job I have repeatedly ask Wayne to do, but never got done.

She and I played in the sewing room, bouncing ideas off each other for projects she is working on.

For her help I offered to make her  bag  with fabrics she has.

Ehhhhhh there are a few more windows to do LOL!!!!!!!!

What A Great Saturday I'm Having

Starting day with quilting another charity quilt - free motion quilting loops and star bursts.

Went on a shopping spree for my quilting business.

Stopped over and spent an hour or more visiting our daughter Stacy and her husband Bert.

Seems we never get to spend enough time together, just chatting, so we made up for lost time today.

Home and played with one of my new purchases - a free standing bobbin winder

I wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago.

After loading some bobbins I quilted this darling wall hanging for a new customer - new to me and new to quilting.  She did an excellent job on this.

I used a panto by Patricia Ritter - Urban Elementz - Christmas Doodles - Trees and it was a really fun panto to use.  Will be among my favorites.

What Have I Been Doing?'

Its been awhile since my last posting, but believe me I have been busy no just lazy.

Back to watching Gus 3 days a week, quilting for others and finally finally feeling better.

Had UT infection that turned into kidney infection, been fighting these infections since returning home from the hospital but alas drugs seem to have worked.

After quilting the last customer quilt I have been working on my own projects and managed to get all the borders on all of my UFO quilts, now to get them quilted.

Many many October birthday blocks were sent and received by the October CT girlz.

Teri  from NY

Karyl from NC
Lynne from Va

There was one more set for Hollie TX -but stupid me in my drug induced stupor forgot to take pictures   - too bad they were really nice and would love to have shown them to you.

After doing October blocks I also made 2 Tshirt quilts for a customer.

Quilt show was Saturday, Ky and I and Annette went together - this year I attended as a civilian, didn't set up a vendor booth and didn't help with the Edgerton Quilt Committee.  Just wasn't feeling up to all the hard work that goes with this, but I did enjoy going and seeing the show.

Here is Ky with her beautiful quilt

During the quilt show recd a call from a new customer she needed a quilt done in a rush rush rush, had to be shipped out of state and received no later than Sat for a wedding.

Dropped it off late Sunday afternoon and I had to piece the back, quilt and do machine binding on it Monday.

Up at 4:30 and finished all by 10:30 no breaks in between.

I really love this scrappy quilt it looks so country quilty - yes quilty a word known only by quilters.......
Using only medium meandering stitch I think it made it look even more quilty.

Challenge Quilt By Alice

This is one attractive looking quilt and was made for her son in law.

Free motion quilting - 102x102 - and I think it looks awesome but then that's just me.

Love the simplicity of it and yet it looks pretty intricate too.

Quilting Tuesday

My how plans can change in a blink of an eye or in my case - a broken iron.

Had my day all planned out a little of my own sewing and then load and quilt a customer quilt.

Material cut and sewing away - pressing pieces - hmm that iron should have been warmed up by now....
Sewing more pieces - what still not hot - whats happening.  Luke warm is all I get???  Yep another iron bites the dust.  I go through irons about 2 a year and it doesn't matter how much or little I spend.

It couldn't be because I use an iron everyday could it.

Oh well on to next step in my day - quilting!!

Here is one of my favorite customers quilts.

Because the fabric was so busy went with simple meandering as you would never see any design anyway, other than in the diamonds - I did my version of free motion dahlia flower.

Some little girl is going to love this bright neon quilt.
