Cuddles and Kisses All Day

"Because this is the last week  I will be spending with grandma for a while she is spoiling me all day with cuddles and kisses.  Grandma has to get her hip replaced so she can be all better and play with me without too much pain.

Surprise she fixed me a new favorite lunch - Macaroni and cheese.  Now my grandma really knows how to make a baby boy happy. For dessert its bananas. mmm another favorite.

Now its my turn to give grandma a surprise, while she is the kitchen cleaning up lunch, I crawl to a chair and pull myself up, standing there showing off for my grandma.

Oh she got the camera out, smile like a big boy!!!

After showing off its time for a new toy -   what did she get me - wow - so much fun

Plastic bowl with a lit - whoop whoop.

I love it thanks Grandma.

Just for that I'm going to take a nice long nap this afternoon and give her a break.

And when I wake up its going to be more cuddles and kisses.

Love from Gus!!!!

50th Really!!!

Last night was my 50th class reunion -

Its been a long time since I went to one of  the class reunions, I'm so glad I did go.

Even though we haven't seen each other in years and years, when you do finally meet up it brings back so many memories.

There was a photo booth available and after 2 drinks (my limit usually) I was talked into having my picture taken a few times with just some of my old school friends.

Would have done more but by the time I finally made up my mind to do this the "program" was starting so I took my seat and watched the program.

Ugh I hate having my picture taken, but still happy I did.

I should be loading a customer quilt this morning, but instead I got a new book in the mail "Tula Pinks City Sampler  100 Modern Quilt Blocks"  so naturally I had to try out the first block. Only 99 more to go.

A group of girls on CT are doing these and I though as long as there was no time limit to finishing, why not.

Now here goes yet another project.  I will say one thing I will never get board with so many projects to work on.

I wonder how I'm going to handle being laid up for a few weeks.  For me I think it will be a few days, with good drugs I should be able to at least sit and sew some of the time.

I wont be telling Wayne if I'm feeling really well right away, its my turn to have him wait on me, don't ya think

Farm Fresh #2

Completed the quilting of yet another Farm Fresh Quilt - and I still have one more to do.

There was a class taken by some customers and they all did the same quilt - after doing the first one for Linda - she has brought me her friends to quilt and her SIL - the next one.

Instead of loading another quilt top I decided to work on Sarah's oriental quilt - a few more blocks made and added some sashing between some blocks just to get an idea of how this will look.  AWESOME!!1

Wait until you see what has been chosen for the borders - its going to be a surprise.

Now its time to clean up and get ready to get my hair cut  - tonight is 50th class reunion.

The Countdown Begins

This morning I finished another customer quilt - a Tshirt Quilt

Here is a tip for all of you quilters - be sure to purchase enough fabric for the backing - in this case she did buy what I told her I needed - but then she washed it and it shrunk so much  I was actually about an inch short to finish the quilt.

I'm counting the days until the hip replacement and so much to do before that happens.

I  have 2 customized quilts to do - and they will each take a min of 3 days each to finish. In between watching Gus and finishing yard work that needs to be done before I'm laid up from the surgery

After the pain I was dealing with last night I'm ready to get this over with - I certainly hope the recovery is quick and I can get back to a "normal" life.

Tonight is guild meeting and Im so looking forward to this one.  Its quilt challenge night and cant wait to see what everyone has come up with for the challenge.

Alice picked up her trapunto quilt and I think she will be bringing to show and tell tonight.  Hope so.

It did turn out awesome.

There are so many ways to make a quilt and so many techniques its such fun to be a quilter.  I get to see all of those amazing quilts before they make it to their new homes.

I was just telling one of my customers, when I was laid off from my job in 2009 I was so devastated, now I feel it was the best thing that ever happened to me.  If  I was still "working" there is no way I would be able to have this much fun and love my JOB as much as I do.

Trapunto Wedding Quilt

Several days to quilt this for Dee Dee - trapunto, prairie points, wedding pictures - so many different quilting techniques used in the making of this quilt.

Custom quilting to finish it off.

The pictures just don't do it justice - still  have the shams to quilt and full intention of doing them today.

However, went and worked in the flower beds and wound up spending 2 hours instead of 30 min as planned.

Then Wayne decided to strip the couch and chair slip covers and wash them.  So cleaning mode set in and vacuumed the carpet and then got the carpet cleaner out and proceeded to scrub the carpets.

Now I'm too pooped to quilt.

Here is what drew me outside to begin with.

dont know how to turn the picture right side up

Now to finish cleaning the rest of the house - and tomorrow quilt the shams

Crazy Quilting With Oriental Fabrics

A while back a friend of mine dropped off a bag full of oriental silky fabrics.

After time I finally made up my mind as to what I'm going to make.

Showed these blocks to Sarah (dil) and so happy she likes them because I am making her the most awesome quilt.

Cant wait to see how this one turns out.

Today I started quilting Alice's Trapunto quilt.  Talk about gorgeous.  That is the word for this one.

This will take a few days to do - small looping around the trapunto flowers and feather border and sashings.

Loving the soft colors of this quilt.

Three Days and Finished

Yes 3 days of quilting this customized quilt for customer.

Farm Fresh is the pattern, it was a BOM from one of the local quilt shops.

I had done another one like it last year for a different customer, only she had made it with different colors and also enlarged it for her bed.

So much detail when doing customized quilts but so very worth it.
