Busy Hands

By now you know I am not one to sit around doing nothing, and, although I have many quilts to either make myself or quilt for others, I do enjoy making other things.

Recently I received my order of hand dyed yarns from my sister in law Donna Kallner - she has etsy shop that sells these gorgeous bundles of color and joy https://www.etsy.com/shop/DonnaKallnerFiberArt

Also keep my hands and interest I now have grown a real obsession on making little mice pin cushions.

Out of boredom one day (how can I be bored) I went to my computer and googled in pin cushion patterns and came upon  little mice

So in addition to going here and there with family and friends, attending sew groups and meetings enjoying my days with Gus, I spend my days and nights working all of these fun projects.

After going out for breakfast with friends, I decided to check out getting a different vehicle.

Since purchasing the Jeep I have not been all that pleased with it - think I'm going to upgrade a little.

When you are short (who me) or vertically challenged, sometimes you find you aren't able to see over the dash or hood of the vehicle.  Such is my case - I actually have to ride with a 2" cushion under my bottom to see where I'm going - not a good situation at all.

The Jeep does not come with the option of raising the seat.

Which might be a concern for some people, especially those that I meet on the road or around a curve.

So for the safety of others I'm looking into buying a vehicle that will adapt to my "challenge"

I will update you on the results later.

HEHEHEHEHE

Its almost that time of year again!!!!!

The nights are cooler and yesterday and today feels like its on its way!!!!

Wont be long now!!!!!!

find the witch!
I had such fun doing this cute wall hanging - all customized but so much fun  I love it.

The quilter told me she got the paper piece pattern from www.quilterscache.com - where I go to all the time to find patterns for quilt blocks.

When you are in doubt and just have no clue what to do - check out that web site it will get your creative juices flowing.

Disappearing 4 Patch

What a sweet, lovely looking quilt quilted with panto "Folkart Flowers"

After working on the past couple of customized quilts its always a nice break to do a simple edge to edge quilt -

Perfectly sewn by the quilter and she chose the perfect stitch design along with a soft peach thread.

Today I'm taking an even bigger break, no quilting today at all.

Playtime with Gus and a short walk outside to collect a bouquet of flowers

What good is it to grow all those flowers outside and not being able to bring a few inside to enjoy.

A Very Special Quilt

A good quilting friend of mine gave me a huge bed size quilt  - 92.5x102.5 -  that she wanted custom quilted - oh yes another and I have been posting pics here and there on Face Book

Here is the final quilt in its entirety = just finished minutes ago

Its a gorgeous quilt - she said she has had this for years and finally decided to complete it -  I had it for a while waiting its turn and now she can finally take it home -   and I can add to my photo library.

I have to laugh though, because I get custom quilts only once in awhile and manage to do more edge to edge, but these last 2 customs have been a real challenge because of the size and the amount of customizing done.

They came in almost at the same time so I knew my work was cut out for me.

I have one more custom to do and then its back to the edge to edge again.

Back On Track

For now a couple of "normal" quilting is in order.

Here is another customer quilt, with  free motion quilting Paisley Feathers -  this only took a day and a half and thats only because I take time out to be with Gus.

Just needs a binding that Im doing for the customer and this one is outta here and on to the next.

Enough quilting for today - time to play with my little guy.

Gus has been playing couch potato with the ipad and netflix too long today - I need to get him away from electronics, tv and start using the toys and his imagination again.

Forty Plus Hours

Lost track of how long this actually took, but my estimation is over 40 hours.

Was it worth it.  Time and customer will tell.

I do love it but I must confess I will never do this much line ruler work on this large a quilt again!- I must have been insane at least for the moment.

And now the reveal:

I just hope she loves it or at least likes it.
